Brigade Hotel Ventures Appoints Vinay Gupta as Chief Executive Officer, Effective August 17, 2026

Leadership Transition at Brigade Hotel Ventures

Brigade Hotel Ventures announced the appointment of Vinay Gupta as CEO, effective August 17, 2026, marking a significant leadership change for the hospitality arm of Brigade Group. Gupta brings over 30 years of hospitality experience to the role as the company pursues an ambitious capital deployment plan.

Gupta's Background in Hospitality

With over 25 years of global hospitality expertise, Gupta will play a key role in leading investment strategies and maximizing the value of the company's hotel portfolio. Gupta is a recognized industry veteran with a proven track record of success in diverse markets, including India, the UK, UAE, and Australia, with extensive experience encompassing large-scale operations management, business development, and asset management for prominent brands such as ibis, Hilton, and SAMHI Hotels.

He holds an MBA from The University of Central Lancashire, UK, a BA in Hospitality from Lancaster University, UK, and a Diploma in Hospitality from IHM, Pusa Road.

Brigade Hotel Ventures' Expansion Push

In the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, Brigade Hotel Ventures reported consolidated profit after tax of ₹17.34 crore, up from ₹7.16 crore in the same quarter of the previous year, with consolidated revenue at ₹127.04 crore versus ₹124.16 crore year-on-year.

The hospitality business in Bengaluru saw Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) climb 10% year-on-year to ₹7,099, while high room occupancy of 84.2% helped offset challenges in other areas. The company's Food & Beverage segment faced pressure during the quarter, attributed to slower corporate travel, reduced MICE event demand, and a quieter banqueting calendar.

The company is executing a strategy to deploy ₹3,600 crore across its hotel portfolio over the next three to four years. Chennai will account for approximately ₹1,100 crore of this planned investment to expand the company's hotel portfolio. The expansion will begin with the launch of the Courtyard by Marriott Chennai World Trade Centre, followed by the luxury JW Marriott Chennai OMR and Grand Hyatt Chennai ECR by 2029-30.

Current Portfolio and Strategic Fit

BHVL is the second largest owner of chain-affiliated hotels and rooms in South India as of March 31, 2025, and operates nine hotels with 1,604 keys across Bengaluru, Chennai, Kochi, Mysuru and the GIFT City, with operations managed by global hospitality companies such as Marriott, Accor and InterContinental Hotels Group.

BHVL aims to double its operational keys to 3,300 by FY29, planning to develop nine new hotels with 1,700 keys across South India, with an estimated capital expenditure of approximately ₹34 billion over FY25–29.
