World Trade Center Bengaluru Becomes India's First Commercial Building to Achieve WiredScore Platinum Certification
India's First Platinum-Certified Commercial Building
World Trade Center Bengaluru has achieved WiredScore Platinum certification, becoming India's first commercial building to receive the highest rating for digital connectivity and smart technology. Brigade Enterprises Limited announced that its World Trade Center (WTC) Bengaluru has been awarded the prestigious Platinum Certification by WiredScore. The certification, announced on 26 February 2026, establishes a new benchmark for commercial infrastructure in India.
What WiredScore Platinum Means
WiredScore is the global standard for digital connectivity and smart technology in buildings. Since its founding in New York in 2013, WiredScore has seen over 1 billion square feet of commercial and residential space committed to its certification across 40 countries. Platinum is the highest designation—a comprehensive assessment of a building's capacity to support bandwidth-intensive operations, mobile connectivity, and future technology demands.
Digital and Satellite-Ready Infrastructure
The certification specifically recognizes the building's readiness for future technological demands, noting that WTC Bengaluru is Starlink-ready, possessing established provisions for telecom risers, vertical pathways, and requisite rooftop infrastructure for seamless satellite deployment. This positions the building to support distributed workforce models and redundant connectivity options—critical infrastructure for multinational tenants and technology-intensive operations.
The Building: Scale and Location
The World Trade Center Bengaluru structure, gracing the skyline above Orion Mall at the Brigade Gateway campus, boasts a remarkable 2 Basement + Ground + 30 Floor configuration. At 128 m, the WTCB was the tallest commercial building in south India from 2010 till 2015 and the tallest building in Bangalore between 2010 and 2013.However, it still remains the tallest commercial building of Bengaluru. With a metro station just 500 meters away, it enjoys seamless connectivity to the city and International Airport, making WTC Bengaluru a central and accessible hub for businesses.
The campus also houses Manipal Hospital, Orion Gateway Mall, Sheraton Grand Bengaluru Hotel at Brigade Gateway, Brigade Gateway Residences and Brigade School. This integrated campus model—anchored by commercial, hospitality, retail, healthcare, and education—differentiates Brigade Gateway as a self-contained business destination in Malleshwaram-Rajajinagar.
Grade A+ Commercial Specification
Its exceptional features include a grand triple-height atrium, a helipad and an observation deck, all designed to redefine the standards of Grade A+ specifications and LEED and WiredScore Certification. The LEED Gold certified building is home to a plethora of amenities including a food court, landscaped gardens, an observation deck and a helipad. Tenants include multinational corporations and technology firms: Few of the current occupiers at Brigade World Trade Centre include ABB India, Brigade Enterprises, KPMG India, Siemens Industry Software and Hitachi India.
Developer Context: Brigade Group's Commercial Footprint
Brigade Group, established in 1986, is highlighted as a leading property developer in India with developments spanning Residential, Office, Retail, Hospitality, and Education sectors across major cities. The company has developed landmark buildings across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mysuru, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and GIFT City, spanning residential, office, retail, hospitality, and education sectors.
Boasting an impressive development footprint of 22 million sq. ft., with an additional 14 million sq. ft. in progressive phases, Brigade Group has over 50 commercial masterpieces housing corporate headquarters and software hubs to incubation centers and foreign consulates. Brigade has developed the World Trade Center Bengaluru and is developing World Trade Center Kochi and also holds a license to develop World Trade Centers in Chennai, Hyderabad and Thiruvananthapuram.
Strategic Perspective: Digital Infrastructure as Competitive Asset
The certification demonstrates Brigade Group's conviction that robust digital infrastructure represents a fundamental requirement for modern enterprise rather than a luxury. Nandakumar O P, COO Commercial at Brigade Enterprises Limited, stated that the Platinum rating reflects the company's proactive strategy of integrating cutting-edge technology into its commercial assets. He emphasized the belief that robust digital infrastructure is now a fundamental requirement for modern enterprise, not a luxury.
William Newton, CEO of WiredScore, praised Brigade Group's commitment to future-proofing the development. "By achieving WiredScore Platinum certification, Brigade Group has demonstrated its commitment to future-proofing World Trade Center Bengaluru for years to come in an increasingly competitive real estate landscape," Newton commented. He highlighted how placing digital connectivity and smart technology at the center of their strategy enables Brigade Group to create first-class office environments for tenants while positively impacting urban dynamism.
The certification arrives as commercial real estate tenants increasingly prioritize infrastructure resilience, hybrid work readiness, and technology-enabled workplace environments. For multinationals and technology enterprises operating in Bengaluru's competitive talent market, WiredScore Platinum certification provides third-party validation of the underlying digital backbone—a quantifiable differentiator in lease negotiations and long-term facility planning.
