Ritz-Carlton Vaikom Island: Brigade and Marriott Partner on Kerala Luxury Resort

Marriott International announced The Ritz-Carlton Vaikom Island, scheduled to open in 2029, in partnership with The Brigade Hotel Ventures Limited. The all-villa resort will feature 70 exclusive accommodations, each with a private pool.

Location and Connectivity

Set amidst the tranquil backwaters of Kerala, the resort will be accessible via a scenic 120-minute drive from Kochi Airport or a 40-minute to 60-minute speedboat journey through the tranquil backwaters from Bolgatty Jetty in Kochi. Vembanad Lake, the largest lake in Kerala and the lifeline of the Backwaters, stretches across multiple districts, including Kottayam and Vaikom.

Located in Kottayam district, Vaikom beckons with its pristine waterways and offers a gateway to experiencing the timeless allure of Kerala's traditional lifestyle and spiritual depth. Vaikom is home to the famous Vaikom Mahadeva Temple, one of the oldest and most important Shiva temples in Kerala.

Amenities and Design

The resort includes five distinct dining venues, a swimming pool, a fitness centre and The Ritz-Carlton Spa. Each villa is designed as a private retreat within the broader island setting, offering direct access to the backwaters.
